Ponmile entered the prestigious University of Lagos in 1995, where he studied Chemical Engineering. His vibrant spirit and passion for leadership quickly became evident through his active participation in campus life, including membership in the celebrated Theater-15. His leadership journey reached a notable milestone when he was elected President of the Students’ Union in his final year.

Following his graduation, Ponmile pursued further academic excellence internationally, obtaining a Master’s degree in the United States and subsequently earning his PhD as a distinguished Japanese Government Scholar in 2005. His professional journey has been equally impressive, encompassing roles in Analytics, Statistical Programming, and Financial Risk Management. Today, he serves as a Senior Vice President at Citigroup, contributing significantly to the financial industry.

A committed alumnus, Ponmile is a founding member of the North American Chapter of the University of Lagos Alumni Association, serving as its inaugural Secretary-General and later as Chapter President, continually strengthening ties among alumni across the continent.
